I am thrilled to say WE HAVE THE 100 GOOD WISHES QUILT!!....Now, technically, TECHNICALLY it isn't finished.
There is a final piece to be added by Pat King, the amazing woman who took on the job to finish this project. The final piece is a label that will be added to the back that tells the story of the quilt and don't worry, I will take photos and post them as soon as that final piece is added :O)
Jason, Jacob and I are taking a road trip to NH- leaving today,
WOOHOO, and I asked Pat if by chance, we could take the quilt with us regardless of it was completed or not? She of course, said sure! We are
soooo excited, there are FIVE families who contributed to the quilt that we will see on our vacation, I cannot wait to let them see and feel what their fabric and wishes did!! Of course, the 100 Good Wishes book that will hold all the wishes/ fabric has not been started yet as those traveled with the quilt and quilter. That gets to be my next project, I will probably start it once school starts up in the Fall...or maybe sooner, we will see how slow/ fast the Summer goes!!!
This project started in March 2007, it is heartbreaking at times, to think of all the twists and turns the project has taken and this quilt will forever represent SO MUCH to me and us, as a family. Thank you again to ALL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY who contributed to this project, this is truly an heirloom in every sense of the word!! ("noun. A valued possession passed down in a family through succeeding generations.") A very, very special thanks goes out to our three quilters who took on this job: MARLENE,
ONNIE AND PAT. I will think of each of you every single time I look at this quilt!!
~The music notes that are stitched into the bottom right corner of the quilt are "Jesus Loves Me"...Pat King did that on her own, I LOVE IT :o) She said "this way,
Laci always knows that Jesus love her"... :-P
