Latest update on our wait for our daughter...

Sooooo, as you can guess, there is still quite a long wait ahead of us...although I like to look at it this way- we have waited a lot longer than the wait that is ahead of us, so that is good!  Families who have just been matched were waiting for 44 months, and as of Feb 6 we have been waiting 36 months.  That means (here is my standard explanation that I have repeated for the past 36 months, sorry) that "if nothing changes, and it will," we would travel in October...but like I said before and will say many more times in the coming months, the wait continually fluctates so we do NOT know when we will travel.  I am counting on some time in 2011, that is my hope.

There was a national adoption conference in Beijing on January 18, with a theme of "widening the channels of international adoption"....we continue to pray that things will move faster for us and all the families who are waiting to be matched with their children!  When we began this journey in July 2006, the wait to be matched was 10-12 months I believe...and here we are 36 months later (our official wait started when our paperwork was approved and in China) still waiting.

The wait has strengthened our faith in God, as we truly know He has a plan and our time to meet our daughter is coming when the time is right.  Jacob is doing amazing, he continues to make us proud every single day and he will only be more prepared for his sister the longer he waits :o)  We have decided that we WILL BE TAKING JACOB TO CHINA with us and this is something we would not have ever imagined was possible if the wait had not been what it has been...he has grown and matured in ways we only dreamed he would.  So, the adventure to China will be something we as a family can experience and remember for the rest of our lives...not that it will be easy but we are looking forward to it now more than ever.  Taking Jacob with us was something Jason and I discussed for quite some time before we realized that any way we look at it, it will be easier than leaving him here without us!!

I will do my best to continue to update this blog, we continue to receive updates from our awesome agency, CCAI, every single month and we continue to be MORE than thrilled with our choice to adopt, and to adopt internationally from China.  Thank you to all our friends and family who continue to support us, some days/ months are easier than others :o)

You did a great job--once again!!! I can't wait to see more additions to the blog. Wouldn't it be great if the time frame started to go DOWN now!!! or at least stay the same so that you would be looking at 8 mos. and 2010!!!
Love,
