We met with Marlene, our quilter bee!

I got to meet Marlene on Thursday, June 7 for our first step with the quilt! My mom came with me and we brought Marlene all the fabric and wishes we have collected so far. We are very excited that she will be making our quilt as she is very talented, we saw many of her quilts throughout her house. We chose a format for the quilt and discussed the fabric options for the border and sashing for between the squares. She told us that she is ready to start, she finished the other projects she was working on!! So, we left the fabric squares with her to begin cutting and when she returns from vacation in a few weeks, we will meet again at a fabric store in Dawsonville, Georgia, which is one of her favorite stores. We will be sending out emails to friends and family to gently remind them to send us their squares and wishes.....or "squishes" as they are fondly referred to in the adoption community :O) We are halfway to our goal of 100, not too shabby! Thank you to everyone who has participated so far and those that will hopefully participate in the near future, The Walker Family
